Poetry Workshops

My friend Adeline and I run a biweekly poetry workshop as a subgroup of Creatives Club DC, a community for artists of all stripes to socialize and collaborate! While CC is an incredible community, we wanted to create a space that prioritizes poetry, which can require a more intimate atmosphere (especially when pieces are very personal to the author). Visit the Poetry Workshop website.

Our meetups are structured as casual writer’s workshops, in which the rules and format can change according to poet’s needs. If you’d like to bring a poem for the group to critique, please arrive with 10 hard copies of your work (if you’re in a pinch, we can make digital copies work, but the DC library also allows you to print 20 free pages a day). All skill levels, styles (and non-writing observers) are welcome!

Our poetry workshop runs on Monday evenings, typically taking place in the MLK Library in Washington, DC. Join the Discord “poetry” and “Biweekly Poetry Workshop” subgroups of the CC Discord to learn more.
